A client just phoned me because he was getting this error message – “The Number Must Be Between 1 And 31″ - whilst trying to print an envelope using MS Word 2010.
I’m laid up in bed with the lurgy, so couldn’t go round to help him. I “Googled” the problem and came up with some random answers which didn’t help. He wasn’t using a custom template, just using a standard blank document and then clicking on “mailings/envelopes”.
About ten minutes later he rang back to say he had solved the problem.
What had he done?
Before asking his computer to print the envelope he had been printing labels – using custom settings. ”Just out of interest” (his words) he went back into the label settings and returned the settings to one of the standard options, rather than the custom settings he had been using.
That cured the problem and his envelope printed properly.
